Ryan is a Structural Engineer and a registered Project Management Professional, with over 10 years of experience in Engineering, Operations, and Design and Construction – 9 of them at Amazon where he has supported the launch of projects in 10 countries and counting. As the Head of Sustainability for the Global Engineering Services team in EU, his team is responsible for planning and delivering Sustainability projects across Amazon’s real estate portfolio to support their global Net-Zero Carbon objectives. His team consists of Sustainability professionals, Program Managers, Pre-Con and Construction Managers, and Scientists. He is from Southern California and has lived in Barcelona, Spain since 2020. He is an avid traveler having been to 40 countries and counting, is an early stage startup angel investor, and enjoys exploring new cultures through food. Ryan considers Sustainability a critical focus needed for private and public sectors and individuals alike. Given the continual rise in global greenhouse gas levels and the challenges it poses across the globe, Sustainability has rightfully started to move to front and center and is a need for business continuity as government regulations rise – plus it’s the right thing to do for our planet. In his daily work and life, putting Sustainability on the table in business decisions right up with fulfilling customer demand allows for being able to better build for people and the planet.
