I started working in the construction industry in the year 2000, I had a cleaning business specialising in construction cleaning of new builds. Back then the industry was very different, I was the only women on site and would have loved to have trained as Site Manager but was told it wasn't the place for a girl. Thankfully things have changed and most professional companies within the industry, including who I work for now, have a strong focus on ensuring diversity, equality and inclusion are at the forefront of the business, ensuring those with the drive and ambition to learn get the opportunity to have a career in the industry they want.
Why is it important to support diversity and inclusion?
