Steven Milford is an Architect with over 20 years’ experience of working in private practice and main contracting in the UK. He has led design teams on delivering ambitious award-winning projects both as an architect and design manager. He started his architectural career in Reiach and Hall Architects in Edinburgh which gave him a grounding in good design and construction technology where he developed a passion for the technical aspects of delivering built projects.

He worked in commercial practices gaining a better understanding of the business of design in construction and as a Partner at Hurd Rolland Architects in Fife he oversaw the delivery of Capital Square in Edinburgh, a BCO award winning office development with BAM Construction. It was this collaboration that led him to seek an opportunity with BAM as a design manager working on several large Passivhaus projects where his technical experience has been broadened to better understand construction methodology and what it takes in preconstruction to secure the necessary quality to achieve that accreditation. Steven now heads up Design Management in BAM’s Scottish Region where he oversees a wide range of education, leisure and community projects that are leading the way in the reduction of energy and Carbon as part of Scotland’s Net Zero Public Sector Building Standard policy
