Tamara Okello Bird

Creative Director & Co-Founder, Atelier22 Ltd

Tamara is an award-winning creative director with an impressive interior design career spanning over 11 years. The Thames Valley University graduate’s expertise lies in visualising and executing breathtaking rooms that challenge her clients to look beyond the ordinary. The former British Property Foundation youth mentor has a wealth of experience working with premium developers in the capital. Tamara spearheaded the creative direction of the residential, communal and commercial spaces at Battersea Power Station, Europe’s largest mixed-use development. This involved conceptualising and delivering 62 show apartments and business suites over the course of nine years, with three of the flats winning in their category at the 2022/2023 National Property Awards. Tamara’s multifaceted role at the iconic site in southwest London also saw her design and create furniture packages for 93 luxury apartments within a private build-to-rent purchase, and form a fee-earning department which generated an income of £200,000 over two years. Tamara - a speaker on the Workspace Design Trends panel at the 2021 Hotel Design Live virtual conference - continually delights her clients with the way she seamlessly slots interior inspiration from films, fashion, literature and modern art into her projects. Tamara combines her discreet approach with her unparalleled knowledge of sustainable practices to ensure her clients’ needs are surpassed in the best possible way.

"As a Black women in the Property Sector, its important to me to not only see more women within the industry but to also see diversification and representation of all women. I feel passionately about connecting and growing my network to not only provide opportunities but to learn from each and empower other women the way I have been empowered."
