Vanessa Curtis MSc. FRICS (She/Her) Vanessa is a Chartered Surveyor with over 16 years of industry experience working with corporate occupiers of Real Estate, advising on portfolio strategy, transactions, data governance and risk mitigation. She is a Fellow of the RICS and sits on the RICS Governing Council. At CBRE, Vanessa is a Senior Director in CBRE’s Technology, Media and Telecoms business and Chairs CBRE’s Ability Network, which she founded from scratch with a colleague and is now over 800 people strong across UK&I, with new branches in USA and Singapore. Vanessa also sits on CBRE’s UK DEI Steer Co. Vanessa is Founder and Chair of AbilityRE (Ability in Real Estate), a non-profit organisation which was founded to drive inclusion, awareness and opportunities for people within the Real Estate and Built Environment sectors who have disability, neurodiversity, mental ill-health or long-term health conditions. Vanessa has ADHD and is proud parent and advocate for two neurodiverse sons. Vanessa was listed as a top Neurodiversity Evangelist 2023. In her spare time (jokes!) she is the DEI Ambassador for the CoreNet Global UK Chapter and sits on the DisabilityIn: EMEA Council. She coaches U7 and Ladies football, has two dogs and a snake, and loves swimming and scuba diving!

I passionately believe that improving the diversity profile of our industry will result in an improvement of the inclusivity and accessibility of our built environment, to the benefit of everyone. We must act decisively and proactively as the removal of inclusion barriers won't happen by itself and we risk missing out on incredible talent.
