Wayne Richards

Wayne Richards is an independent construction consultant with over 20 years of experience specialising in building envelope systems, external finishes and specification development. Through Forseti, he works with manufacturers, architects and contractors to develop practical solutions that combine technical performance, regulatory compliance and efficient installation.

His work explores how innovations in materials and installation systems can support Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), particularly through modular and pre-engineered solutions for decking, cladding and other external finishes.

At London Build, Wayne will discuss how surface finishes can be integrated into offsite manufacturing, with support systems installed in the factory and finishes either assembled rapidly on site or partially pre-installed. This approach allows vulnerable finishing and detailing components to be fitted after transportation, helping reduce damage, installation time and site labour.

He also contributes to industry guidance and technical education, and has recently written for publications including Roofing Today, exploring the evolving use of timber and alternative materials in external applications.
