Will is Group Managing Director of SE Controls, a leading company in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of smoke control systems. He has worked in the smoke control industry for over 40 years and is directly involved in the development of product safety standards. He is the current chair of BSI’s FSH/025 committee for smoke control, convenor of European Standards working groups for smoke ventilation control panels and power supplies and actively participates in several industry groups. He is the convenor of the BS 7346 part 8 working group, which is currently redrafting the standard to reflect changes in approaches to planning, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of smoke control systems. Together with industry stakeholders, the group is ensuring this latest standard reflects the innovations in digital information capture, product compliance, the golden thread and effective asset management.
