Megan O'Sullivan-Day

Megan went to the University of Northampton to study Geography, in the holidays she worked at Moat Housing Association, this was where she first realised housing was the sector for her. After graduating she secured a job at Peabody as a New Homes Officer. Dealing with developments and defects gave her a great insight into the issues buildings face after Practical Completion. Following this role she started as a Development Officer at Peabody. Her role consisted of managing construction projects, assisting on the estate regeneration and securing meanwhile uses for vacant land. In 2017 she started as a Project Manager for Hexagon Housing Association. She is currently managing several construction sites across South-East London. Since being exposed to the construction world she feels very passionately about promoting more Women into the industry. She said ‘ Being young and a woman hasn’t been easy at times, I have been exposed to many remarks about both my age and gender, which we all know is not appropriate!’ I hope Women of the future will not experience the alienation we have all experienced. I feel that it is all moving in the right direction, there are more and more women starting careers in the great industry that is construction!
